America's future leaders look interesting

Unread postby lorenzo » Sat 30 Sep 2006, 15:21:52

Patrick Henry College. Educating America's creme de la creme.
Check out the slideshow about the documentary: Link (link broken)
Original title: "God's next Army"
The American version of your average madrassah (the Taliban were college students too).
Daily schedule:
7am: prayer
7.30am: breakfast
8am: prayer
9am: bible study
11am: debunking evil science
12am: prayer
12.30: lunch
1.30pm: prayer
2pm: bible study
3pm: rethorics class (debunking evil atheists and their dribble by quoting from the bible)
4pm: prayer
5pm: debunking evil humanities, culture (geopolitics of christianity and conversion)
6pm: prayer
6.30pm: diner (mixed with copious amounts of prayer)
7.30pm: prayer
8.30pm: free time (but most pray)
9.30pm: evening bible class
10.30pm: prayer
11pm: bedtime
Science books not allowed, TV not allowed unless channel approved by Council for Morality, etc...

Some quotes from the documentary, coming from 'professors', 'students' and 'staff':
"I don't care what Plato says, even less what Aristoteles wrote. Aristoteles can easily be identified as an emanation of the devil."
"Hinduism is just messy"
"Europe is an atheist hellhole that we must control and convert"
"America must use its force to convert all non-Christians"
"We are delivering the people who are going to lead America"
"Geological formations, you know, the layers in the earth, were not formed by millions of years of geological interaction. They are the result of the Flood." (Geology 'professor').
"All taxes must be destroyed, because everything belongs to God, not to the atheists of the State. Taxes must be sent to God. -- [documentary maker: Huh?? But what does God do with these taxes?] "He builds his Kingdom with it."
Clearly, I hope most Americans see this College as a crazy sect and contain it. But according to the documentary makers, this isn't so. In fact, millions of Americans are joining the trend.

It's so scary.
Must we launch an atheist counter-offensive? Must we contain these American madrassahs? Or is containment not enough? Is preemptive action in order?

You are vastly outnumbered, and those in charge hold the football. Trust us, we only want whats best for you, and you'll get it whether you want it or not!

The only real debate in America is about whether the Evangelicals who like unions will defeat the Evangelicals who dislike unions.

This one of your B.S. posts Lorenzo, like no Americans fought and died in Europe in 1944?

http://www.peakoil.com/fortopic4289-0-asc-30.html

For your edification the former Soviet Union was doing nothing about the Nazi’s in 1939 either. Stalin was too busy attacking Poland from the east at the same time Hitler was attacking from the west. Maybe you can explain to me their “Non-Aggression Treaty” with Nazi Germany at that time.
America had a two front war on its hands starting in 1941. If you think the Americans had nothing to do till D-Day 1944 consider: The Japanese Empire had a Navy in 1941 that could rival any in the world. They absolutely had the best Naval Torpedoes in the world with the “Long Lance” type (left no trail like you see in the movies). They arguably had the finest fighter aircraft in the world in 1941 in the A6M “Zero”, read the accounts of people who flew against it with inferior aircraft!
If you think America was just fighting over some “Crab Islands”, this was something the former Soviet Union couldn’t have done, they didn’t have what you or anyone else would call a Navy. And, Oh Yes, in case you’ve never read this, Japan kicked Russia’s Ass 1905!

What’s your reply Lorenzo?

Fortunatly in America it is their right to have that sort of education if they wish, as it is our right to vocally agree or disagree with it, seek and voice our opinions on what we feel is truth and untruth.

Well,
this only proves that there are crazy americans. So what? There are crazy people everywhere. Maybe there are more crazy americans than crazy belgians because there are more americans than belgians, then again, there are more europeans than americans so there are problably more crazy europeans than crazy americans. then there are the indians and the chinese.

Bottom line, as long as this kind of people does not get into power (independent of how they get there), let them be as crazy as they want. Wouldn't want the ultraright fools who run around in the ardennes playing WWIII on weekends to be in charge either, or the equally crazy islamic fundamentalists.

But in most normal countries, they're not in power. That's the difference, isn't it?

Why do you think there's such a vast stream of documentaries, news stories, theme evenings and public debates in Europe about America's fundamentalism? Not because it involves just three snake-worshipping loonies somewhere in Texas. Because it's a societal trend that results in actual political power.

And not just in any nation, no, this is happening in the only nation that has ever used weapons of mass destruction (chemical weapons in Vietnam and atomic bombs), that sits on 10,000 nuclear war heads, that has a military-industrial complex 20 times larger than all other countries on the planet combined and that has launched a false, evil war that has cost 150,000 lives because of this fundamentalist protestant ideology.

That's why this is not a matter of just saying "so what".

Funny old world ain't it?

Americans believe media propaganda about Europe... & they do the same to us.

Guess it sells soap... or Mentos; depending on which side of the pond you're on.

Never been to Europe, (assuming our British members would be offended if I counted Bournemouth), so I can't really say with certainty, but I can tell you with authority that this characterization of America is utter nonsense.

I'm sure it plays in the sticks with the hicks... but the power brokers are only interested in 1 thing, religious affiliations notwithstanding.

And I bet everyone here knows what that is.

You may as well judge America by Jerry Springer... or England by Benny Hill...

Same as it ever was... everywhere.

A tiny fraction of people serve & acquire power... the rest serve their nerve endings.

// That is all
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Great idea. I'm with George Carlin on this one "anytime a bunch of holy people want to kill each other, I'm a happy guy." Unfortunately such assholes usually have a way of involving a bunch of outsiders in their "collateral damage" for god.

Yeah, yeah, I know they all have the freedom to be dumbasses, but it's also irritating because they don't want others to have the freedom to not believe as they do. Also, they are free to believe whatever they want, but that doesn't mean anyone else has to respect those beliefs.

American bankers and industrialists (including grandpa Bush) financed and supplied both the Nazis and the United States up until the very end of the war, then got slaps on their wrists. What a coincidence! Don't be fooled. Every war of the last century was a huge scam including world war 2

Bullshit! Double Bullshit. This is one of those typical war propaganda pieces that is waving red flags and shooting flares announcing how full of shit it is.

Hitler thought the US would either be their ally or just ignore the whole war during its earlier stages. This was probably partly due to thae Nazi Prescott Bush's input. From what I've gathered neither Hitler nor Japan had indicated any interests in invading the US. Both were much more focused on colonizing their own neighbors.

While both countries, and Italy to a lesser extent, had the top war machines of the time, the idea of invading, conquering and holding the US to the point that it's population would "screaming SIEG HIEL!!! at the top of your lungs" is ludicrous. Russia, with whom the Nazi empire shared a common border was a tough enough opponent at the time. Add the logistics of shipping enough troops around the world and maintaining supply lines AFTER the heavy losses incurred by conquering their own hemisphere, and my guess is the war machine and desire to continue further would be pretty much done.

If we consider how much ability the American public has shown at grasping and converting to the extremely easy metric system, I have huge doubts of the ability of any nation or leader's ability to invade, conquer and force their language or beliefs down the throats of Americans.

This story works well on the sheep who will comprise the vast numbers of cannon foder troops. Meanwhile the guys like Cheney will continue to have "other priorities" like profiting from selling bullshit stories to the sheep to keep them fighting and keep the profits rolling. And all the while he'll still be doing business with the guys like him on the enemy's side.

Yeah world war II wasn't any different in nature than our foreign wars today. Rumsfeld sold nuclear reactors to North Korea and Halliburton (Cheney) has been and still is selling nuclear technology to IRAN. apparantley all the investors in world war II went straight down the memory hole. you ask nearly any world war II vet: Did you know that many of the worlds bankers and industrialist financed and supplied both sides of the war and pushed the various governments into joining it? They have no clue and just go into how important the war was and how important it was to defeat hitler. Hitler couldn't have done jack squat without the business men manipulating and profiting on both sides. Nobody agknlowedges America helped finacnce and supply hitler during the entire war.
