If a Frenchman travels to Germany by train, is that “travel overseas”? What if an Frenchman travels to England by train, does this count as “travel overseas”? Or would it be underseas travel?

Might be why I'm NOT so open minded anymore.

I've been to:

Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas (and other Carribean islands), Belize, Ecuador, England, Spain, France, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Hong Kong and China.

Seeing how other people live and experiencing foreign cultures is the only way to truly understand those people.

Raphael is right.

People in the United States who travel to Mexico only to stay in Club Med in Cancun haven't actually been to Mexico.

You need to actually visit the cultural sites of a nation, not just hang out on the beach for a week.

But of all the places I've been, none was as interesting as Hong Kong. Everything about that place was different than what I was used to. It was simply an incredible experience.

Hong Kong is THE BEST. I just got back from there a couple weeks ago so maybe all that traffic from China was me ;).

Did you go to "The Peak"? Or the Po Lin monastery?

The term "abroad" is better than "overseas".

You get a false impression of any country if you only gauge it by the people you have met who are outside their own countries.

They have very nice fake $150 Fendi purses and other stuff.

I love HKs architecture, symphony of lights, cuisine (omgz) aaand their old airport (Kai Tak) with it's awesome extremely-low-in-valley-of-skyscrapers-with-crosswinds approaches that used to be my favorite part of going there when i was little. :-D

Well....I've been to Canada. I guess that's not really "overseas". Maybe "over great-lakes"?

Honestly, I really don't have much desire to travel the globe. Seems to me that most Americans are so busy running around like headless chickens that they never spend the time to really learn and grow aquainted with any place.

I'd much rather spend the rest of my life in one small town getting to know the people and the land than to be jet setting to Malaysia this week and Tanzania the next.

Been to my southern neighbours...the USA and Mexico. Lived in Australia for a few years and travelled New Zealand, Fiji, Borneo etc. Kind of interested in exploring every nook and cranny of Canada now, it's a big country and there's lots to see.

Been busy, you know how things go. I was actually pretty open minded when I was younger, not that I'm all that old.
Course then I "grew up", got a job and realized I pay a shitload in taxes of which a good majority goes to emotional feelgood bullshit like helping feed some starving whelp in Africa or helping Shaniqua feed her 9 kids, realized most of the poorer countries are jealous of us therefore hate us, realize most of the richer countries are jealous of us and hate us and realized the French are a bunch of stuck up pricks.
Such is life. Caribbean is good though, I could live there on some of the islands. Canada would be the spot if it wasnt for the draconian feelgood emotional bullshit gun laws they have.

Oh. Hi. :)
