What about nonprofit organizations?

Unread postby Doly » Tue 19 Sep 2006, 08:50:18

How do you think nonprofit organizations will do with PO? I have developed a keen interest on this subject lately, because I've changed to a job within a large nonprofit organization.

Non-profit orgs covers a pretty wide swathe of possibilities. Can you be more specific? In general, NPOs rely on the generosity of others - wether that is lobbies or industry groups, governments and quasi-state corps, individual contributions, charitable organizations or religious groups. But in general NPOs financial health and therefore their ability to pay their bills and carry-out their mission rises and falls with the general economy.
The organized state is a wonderful invention whereby everyone can live at someone else's expense.

Given the level of complicity between NGO's and their backers at present, I can only expect more of the same when resources get tight.

I've never seen such a thing as a non-profit organization. They have to eat just as anyone else.
