Another Playlist For My Son

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Tue 12 Sep 2006, 22:57:25

Sometimes I can't take it here. I got banned for a while and I thought of just chucking it. Something keeps me coming back. Maybe I just have to win debates if I can. You know, seduce Miki and show her how brainwashed she is. It is my feeling that the world is absurd so we might as well enjoy the music! God Bless the music! Let the Jews and Palestinians kill each other into hell, I don't give a crap. Give me "Ode To Billie Joe". Give me Wilbur Harrison singing, "Kansas City". Give me Bob Dylan ripping off Wilbur to write "Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat". Yeah, I've made another playlist for my son who ask me to. Why should I share it with you?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'b')ob dylan never ripped off anyone. He homages :)
No, Bob rips them off and then turns it into magic. I'm with you, pstarr. Bob touched my soul. It took me twenty years to get over it. Never listened to a thing of his after 1973 until recently. He mentioned recently that he was trying to use the media to get inside people's heads. I rejected that in '73 after hearing a live album of his in which he sounded like shit. It wasn't hard. But I remembered Desolation Row and it all came back many years later. What can you say about the guy? Amazing.

BTW, if you haven't heard Seven and Seven Is by Arthur Lee and Love you ought to! It comes from a sixties classic, album, "Da Capo". Actually, their album "Forever Changes" was their best. But "Seven and Seven Is" was their best single tune.
