Failure of Just-In-Time Delivery?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and if so, where?

Not here. Weirdo.

All stores get a little out of stock sometimes. I've seen it before.

Yep, same here. I'm not *always* 100% sure I'll find what I need at the store.

Failure of Just-In-Time Delivery?

Unread postby cmlek » Fri 08 Sep 2006, 19:05:28

Hey all. I've noticed as I go about my daily life at Marsh, Payless (Kroger), and Walmart, they're actually running completely out of a few items, and will remain out-of-stock for a few days. (For example, all 3 stores were out of onions, apples, zucchini and other produce things I was trying to get for a recipe. I had to wait 3 days for them to restock since I missed the Farmer's Market.)

I've not really seen this happen before. Also, this has continued past the time of "all the students coming for fall classes", so I'm wondering if I might be seeing just a smidge of The Beginning.

What do you think?

(FYI, I'm at Purdue University in West Lafayette)

I think this is why I keep supplies onhand.
"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the
Abyss, the Abyss gazes also into you."

Ammo at a gunfight is like bubblegum in grade school: If you havent brought enough for everyone, you're in trouble
