The 'Miki' Poll

Postby lateStarter » Tue 29 Aug 2006, 18:16:47

Is it possible to give Miki her own sub-forum? While I appreciate her conviction and give her bonus points for sheer verbosity, it is rather distracting and really doesn't matter. IMHO, she should have been around in the late 60's. So much energy!!!

Miki is not allowed to respond, only read...

I have her/him/it on ignore.

The site is getting way off track.

Just my opinion.

Come on now, don't you ever want to give a little to get? Besides, if she's right about something, it should be acknowledged. We all need to hear each other out. I do think she needs, just like all of us, to unravel truth from propaganda. That's the curse of modern life. Maybe we could use this forum to expose propaganda and know the truth. To that end, miki has done us well. Maybe we can even influence her.

Stop toying with her ("give a little to get" a little). What are you after? Truth or a bit of South American/Lebanese crumpet? Even though I skip through most of her responses just to read the replies, I agree she is compelling and at least forces people to think outside their regular circles...

Some posts are long,
while others are short.
Some, barely worth a retort.

Posts to muddle & baffle your mind,
Others whose meaning you struggle to find.

But in the end,
As you sit in your house,
it's really nothing more,
than a scroll of your mouse.

:)
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

I have long ago hit the ignore button.

I think what she does on this site is akin to someone shouting into the phone when you are just trying to have a nice quiet conversation.

And I am all for listening to other people and having serious discussions but that is exactly what Miki does not do. She has her own opinion and could care f*%k all what yours or mine happens to be.

She drags every post down when she starts her rants.

Also she is a huge fan of the double post, where she will be the person to make the next two post, only internet trolls do that.

Double posting all the time are totally flippin annoying. That is like some crazy women who rants on and on for 20 minutes and when she stops to take a breath and you say "oh thank the Lord she is done" she says and another thing and starts up again.

and if I had to guess I bet she is that girl with the curly red hair that is new to the PO is you photos.

Not since the legendary flame wars between Savinar and Jay H Morrison has a poster added such drama and excitement to the forum.

I do not necessarily agree with all of what she has to say, but she has a particular viewpoint which she should be free to express. If it gets out of hand, I trust the mods to take care of it.

We need a couple more like her. I have also been enjoying the tenacity of Lorenzo lately.

I wouldn't have a problem with miki if this was www.hezbollahchearleadingsquad.com. Has she ever posted anything related to peakoil/environment/energy issues?

Who ever put her on ignore is literally very ignorant.

No one forces you to read nor to answer her posts. There is something seriously wrong with you if her posts are so annoying for you and still, you keep reading them so you have to force yourself by pressing the ignore button to be able to ignore them.

I love debating her. She has a lot of knowledge and insight in a society I know only very briefly. I do not have to agree with her to value her input, which is really interesting. Btw. she posts mainly in the Open Forum, which is anyway a subforum for everything.

I applaude her effort. But I'm still not trusting the Iranian Gov't farther than I can throw it, which is just a half inch less than Bush's.

At the risk of belaboring the obvious, I enjoy annoying her. It's easy to do, and she fumes and fusses so very nicely.

No, that isn't nice. But it's me. 8)

Actually that seems to be her reason for being here.

She has come to tell us all how reasonable and understanding Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is and to explain how he is only joking when he says the jews should be pushed into the sea. Pushing the jews into the sea is just silly talk. Ahmadinejad wouldn't really do it, nope he would put'em in ovens and burn them!

well, i have to admit it. she is the reason i started posting here in force. she pissed me off from the get go. thank god i got over that. i to enjoy getting a rise out of her and crushing her arguments. but im starting to tire of it. i know im wasting my time and i have tried to get her to talk about peakoil to no avail. il have to admit she puts up a good fight with the sheer amount of posts she writes, i cant keep up. i just wish that for one second she could comprehend an opinion other than her own.

i thought hard about the poll and could not come up with an honest vote so i refraned from doing so.

all that said im off to attack her posts.

- edit -

i could not see the results of the poll with out voting so i voted to ban her ass.

Interesting, there are more votes to give her a subforum and to give her the congressional medal of honor than all the other catagories combined. I find that most interesting.

As for miki, I agree that she is a bit too trusting of her homelands version of the Minute men of america. I wouldn't trust those organizations any further than I could throw them.
That said, I wouldn't really trust the IDF either. The point that the political memory of this world really likes to forget all the bad things israel has done is a solid one.

The really interesting thing is, most of the people who claim to demolish her arguements, well, don't. She doesn't always win, but she almost always breaks even, and she wins a good half of the time. I haven't seen many better or more determined debators on this site.

I guess the final thing to say is, I voted give her the congressional medal of honor. Not because I agree with what she's posted nessesarily. But because if more people where that feverent about things, and argued them as well, then I think there would be more honest debate about the state of the world today. And getting people to think, is I think, in the end the ultimate good thing.

Before Miki came along, I just frequented the economics forum, mostly because of MrBill and the other investors. Now I frequent the open forum too, hoping that Miki hasn't shut up yet. I find that while her reasoning is often not bulletproof, it's most refreshing, and often better than that of her opponents. I tire of the same Western tripe that goes along with the beating of our war-drums, and look forward to getting a crash course in what another side believes.
