Atta boy!

Unread postby madison » Thu 17 Aug 2006, 20:57:34

Just wanted to brag on my kid.

I was just starting to think about cooking potatoes for dinner and hollared out "I'm going out to the garden for rosemary, wanna come?" My three year old raced ahead of me out the door.

And ran straight to the rosemary! I asked him where the basil was - and he pointed right to it, and to the lemon balm, the oregano and to the garlic chives when I asked!

So then I picked some of each, and asked him where each herb was and he pointed to them correctly again! What a smart little guy to know his herbs already. He also knows rabbits EAT the garden, and to chase them away, lol. Gonna inspire a love of gardening early!!!

good for you. good for you. so many people have been robbed of basic life skills through bad parenting. i cant hardly believe it when people here talk of it being hard to grow a potato or a tomatoe.

i started out that early. and we always had a massive garden. i now in light of peekoil am extremely grateful for them despite everything else they put me through. even now i dont have a yard but work on 2 this and 3 gardens next year.

Bwahahahaha! That was funny, Roger.

Then again, this is the kid that yesterday did the most disgusting thing I've yet seen him do.

We were playing with the composting worms (!) and he took a big long one and put it in his mouth and slurped off the dirt and much like a long string of speghetti!

I screamed so loud it made him cry.

What on earth was he thinking, lol????

I nearly lost my cookies

wow. That is impressive. A friend told me she saw a documentary about miserable diet in Britain, that highlighted some school children who couldn't identify an apple or orange in a super market. Presumably they'd never seen such a creature!
