Slide show from Hell

Unread postby Zardoz » Tue 15 Aug 2006, 20:32:29

Why do people even discuss the concept of "Middle East peace"? What a waste of time:

How do you negotiate with this?

Before Spec adds anything, I might remind him of the joy of seeing youngsters handling some serious firepower, in a child-rearing effort that makes our NRA plastic toy-gun future member kit look like boys playing with dolls at a tea party...

If I was stuck in a war torn society, my family pictures would look the same.

Nothing wrong with violence by the way. Everyone needs to defend themselves sometimes. Remember, people kill people, not guns.

These photos always remind me that, no matter how "civilized" we may think we are, we're noting more than fucking animals. We should be ashamed that this is allowed to happen anywhere in today's world. And we should be concerned that this may be the future for billions of us. Fun times.

Anyone see that news item that the world now has more obese people than malnourished? or whatever terms were used... I'm sure fat and skinny still work.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('oil4u', '"')slide show from hell"...Yep, and it doesn't get any better. Only in Islam would you strap bombs onto your child.

1-You're absolutely right. Western moms prefer to burn them, beat them to death, stab them, poison them, strangle them, drown them, and throw them out the window.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')o reach her findings, Wright examined hundreds of autopsy reports, coroner's findings, Victorian Police homicide statistics and Supreme Court files as she investigated the deaths of seventy-four children between 1978 and 1990. She discovered that "more than half had been murdered by their mothers, and in 11 cases women killed more than one child. Children had been drowned, set alight, stabbed, suffocated and one baby had even been thrown out of a window by it's mother who was furious at her partner for paying attention to their dog."

"There were other deaths where mothers' sketchy explanations sounded suspicious, and 16 where the cause was undetermined. Many weren't charged with murder, though there were clearly elements of rational planning in the offences. Those who were charged received lenient sentences after arguing they were traumatized, and others were given probation. Most were considered unwell and were treated accordingly."

Source

Now those stats do not cover all the cases (only a few hundreds of them) and they only cover 12 years and only in Australia. If we covered all the Western countries and a broader time span, I'm sure the numbers of moms who murdered their kids would outnumber child suicide bombings by far.

2-Child suicide bombing is extremely rare. Please present us with stats, not just anecdotical evidence and pics from the IDF. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the IDF had dressed Israeli babies like that and took pics of them.

3-Zardoz,

A-What do you expect from people who spend their whole lives watching their relatives being slaughtered, tortured, kidnapped? People that are segregated and discriminated against? They can't buy land, their houses can be demolished anytime, their money in the bank can be expropriated without any legitimate explanation, their relatives can't go back to visit them. People that have been stolen 75% of their land (the West Bank) since the 1970s? What do you expect?

B-Their hate has nothing to do with their capacity to negotiate. These people have negotiated with Israel and accepted the UN resolutions for over 40 years. What did they get in exchange? The state of Israel has violated every UN resolution in favor of the Palestinians, starting from the resolution that allowed Israel's entrance into the UN---which required the Israeli government to allow Palestinian refugees to go back to the West Bank, something that they never did. Israel should have been kicked out of the UN long ago.

How would you negotiate with such a despotic belligerent state, which refuses to abide by international law and insists on keeping a state of apartheid against the Palestinian people?

It is deplorable. The whole world should be rquired to pay some tax to ensure the poorest in the world have something to eat. If each of us gave $100/year only, we could help millions of people. We should all take responsability for these things. If we did, we could help so much. We have much more power to help than we're aware of.

100$/year

No way. I put those deaths down as 'survival fo the fittest'. its a dog eat dog world and if you're not strong enough to eat, then death is your option and what you deserve.

It is unfortunate and many of us are only able to have so much thanks to the luck of being born into the circumstances we were.

BUT I cannot agree with your plan, unless you can tell how you plan on increasing that exponentially forever until we reach the inevitable bitter end of that idea. And don't tell me rational and measured voluntary population reduction because I'm not naive enough to buy it....

Mathew 25:31-46

31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

44 "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45 "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46 "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

That'd be real sad to hear that last one on judgement day wouldn't it? :( All of us on this message board are living with absolute luxuries while much of the world starves. Ever sane person should know there is something wrong with the way this world is run. It just proves we are living in a fallen world full of sin.
