$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Y')ou must have Irish ancestry somewhere in your past. Come over here and enjoy the highest standard of living in the world (it said so on the news today).

Err.. well, compared to the US its definitely a step forward, but the best place in the world?

I mean I love the place, and even lived there for a while. But that survey surely doesn't include the food and the weather.

I have Greek ancestry in the family I think.

For sure I have Indian ancestry but India is out of the picture. I have been there a few times and it is not like how the US shows it to be with beggars everywhere and all people living in slums. In fact, they have made lots of progress in the past few years but with the Pakistan vs India thing I would not want to see a mushroom cloud firsthand.

I've never been to Greece so I can't say if I'd like it there.

I have family in England but since the EU hates their guts and is trying hard to overpower them with a war of the economy I doubt it is a wise move. Besides, my uncle says the govt. there pays unemployed 20somethings a welfare like sum and there are loads of lazy people just living off of the govt.

Irish...hmmmm..never been there either but anything to get out of this.

I unfortunatley live in a red state and many of the people think the country is on the right track. YIKES!

Normally, I would never advocate what I want to do which is basically give up on this place and start somwhere else where things are more progressive.

But....thing after thing keeps going on to drive this country further down the tubes yet people still keep thinking it is all so great and wonderful. Nevermind all of that stuff I said in the earlier posts about the looting of the economy, these resource wars, etc.....just look at the general culture here. It is just all based on sex, fear, aggression, and conformity.

TSHTF when people became frightened to speak freely and govt. agencies were snapping photos of protestors and making files on them.

So to that poster who said we will both be happy...I could not agree with you more.

To work in Canada you do need a SIN number which is similar to social security #s in the US. How does that work? Can an American citizen get one prior to being granted residence and then citizenship or must you wait one year and get your residence and then the SIN is issued?

It would be impossible to find work w/o this SIN.

Oh and a side bar here's a link you may enjoy. It's updated every few days.

Hi Smiley,

Yes the survey did include the food and the weather. I don't understand it either. I suppose when you take the relatively low murder rate etc. into account we might be there or there abouts. Personally I think the North of France is where I'ld like to be whern TSHTF but far away hills are always greener.

Larrydallas,
I got a good laugh from this site you linked too.

It starts with $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'p')robably

Then latter says$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')bsolute undeniable proof is found here, in addition to a million other such inconsistencies nationwide. Wherever there was no audit trail, Bush got +5% of the votes

Proof? Many conservatives hate the exit polls. The 'scienetific' part of them isn't so scientific when you realize that many people with the same political position don't like the exit polls and don't want to participate. For these pols to really be good they would need a scientific methods of selecting and ensureing cooperation.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')mericans By and Large Morons

Hard scientific proof.

The plot of voting patterns in America follows the Bell Curve in a perfect bezier with no deviation. The dumber the people in your state, the more likely they were to vote Bush.

No proof shown here either. Statements without hard data. This is like the preelction stuff that was put out claiming Bush was 'dumb' thas was not based in fact but opinions of people who had an agenda. Luckly many states peoples were smart enough to see past this junk.
Peace out!
