i just fell off my chair laughing ...

neil cavuto on fox news is interviewing this guy about ending America's foreign oil dependence, and he said we have a way, and it is the right here in Colorado called oil sands ( or shale, not sure what he said ) And cavuto asked him how much and how long. The guy said in 20 years or so, it should be producing about 1 mbpd. I don't know why, but it sounded pretty funny. Neil seemed to lose his enthusiasm pretty quick after that statement.

where do these people come from ? Are they really that stupid ? Have the ever heard of economic growth ?

I am sure they have, it's their religion after all - but economic growth is a good thing! Remember, economic growth means investment and demand, and both means more supply!
I would rather ask if they ever considered decline. I guess this is really what's beyond their horizon of "thinking"...

That was my point . Where are they going to get economic growth without growing your energy supply ? 1 mbpd in 20 years isnt a very good start.
