Hi all, I'm new to all this.
I'm writing because I went to a seminar last weekend held by the Sea-Steading Institute. My interest was in sailing, but a lot of their information involved surviving peak oil. So, here I am, in a panic, getting all the information I can.
I really have to recommend Jerome FitzGerald's book "Sea-Steading". I was aboard his boat last weekend and it's the real deal. It's achievable, and a number of people are living independent lives where they'll just laugh at us land based people fighting it out.
Anybody else ought there considering the oceans as an excape?
