An Appeal to Lebanese Embassy and Consulates.. and to Arab-American Organizations[/align]
We call upon the Lebanese Embassy in Washington and the Lebanese consulates around the United States to announce
Monday, July 31 as a Day of Solidarity with Lebanon and to open their offices for gatherings of support and condolences for the victims of the on-going Israeli atrocities against Lebanon and to accept donations for humanitarian relief.
We also ask all Arab-American organizations
to make Tuesday, August 1, as a Day to Condemn the Israeli aggression and massacres in Lebanon through demonstrations at the Israeli embassy and Israeli consulates around the U.S.
We urge all Lebanese, Arabs, and Americans in the U.S. to call upon the White House, State Department, and their members of Congress to condemn these atrocities and pressure Israel to stop the war immediately without condition.
Finally, because the American media has failed miserably to accurately report on Israel’s destruction and devastation of Lebanon, we call upon all people of conscience to contact newspapers, television stations, and other media outlets to plead for honest and accurate reporting of Israel’s siege of Lebanon. The American people are good people, but they are not being told the facts. Once they understand the truth, they will stand up against these moral outrages. That is why we cannot allow the media whitewash to stand.
