I always wanted to write a brain virus. Can you imagine? All of sudden everybody who is infected will walk around in continuous circles or even better, have them strip naked and make them act like monkeys. This is going to be great!

I was joking with one of my friends about how Microsoft would come out with Windows Cranium The next thought was immediately about how much worse the viruses and spyware would be.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')rain-reading technology is improving rapidly. Last year, Sony (Charts) took out a patent on a game system that beams data directly into the mind without implants. It uses a pulsed ultrasonic signal that induces sensory experiences such as smells, sounds and images.

I see TPTB have finally decided to allow some of this old techbology to be released. Hope most people can realize the many implications of this. They've had devices that can remotely monitor brainwaves for decades now. The key is interpretation. They've reached the point now where thought reading is reality.

Of course this has lots of potential, both good and very ugly. The ability to influence people or outright control could well represent the end of 'freedom', and a dark new chapter in human history.

Ahem private schools are rowing in the same river.

That's the reason we home-school our kids.
