And from the map that was posted, I'd bet the contractors building homes in my subdivision could rebuild it in 4 months. But then again, maybe its a motivation/planning/work ethic thing.
I dunno, just speculation.


Yeah really! It only took about a 2 days to construct the new 8/10 lane new 2nd beltway highway that Houston, Texas has! I bet they could reconstruct Beirut overnight if they put their minds to it! sheesh!

And Beirut Internatational... I'd say around 3 hours!

LARNACA, Cyprus - The UN humanitarian chief accused Hezbollah of “cowardly blending” among Lebanese civilians and causing the deaths of hundreds during two weeks of cross-border violence with Israel.
The militant group has built bunkers and tunnels near the Israeli border to shelter weapons and fighters, and its members easily blend in among civilians.
Jan Egeland spoke with reporters at the Larnaca airport in Cyprus late Monday after a visit to Lebanon on his mission to coordinate an international aid effort. On Sunday he had toured the rubble of Beirut’s southern suburbs, a once-teeming Shiite district where Hezbollah had its headquarters.
During that visit he condemned the killing and wounding of civilians by both sides, and called Israel’s offensive “disproportionate” and “a violation of international humanitarian law.”

On Monday he had strong words for Hezbollah, which crossed into Israel and captured two Israeli soldiers on July 12, triggering fierce fighting from both sides.
“Consistently, from the Hezbollah heartland, my message was that Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending ... among women and children,” he said. “I heard they were proud because they lost very few fighters and that it was the civilians bearing the brunt of this. I don’t think anyone should be proud of having many more children and women dead than armed men".

I said *proof*. The UN Humanitarian chief came after the fact, saw the widespread destruction, and assumed that Israelis had bombarded all South Beirut indiscriminately because Hisballah warriors were hiding among the ppulation.

The truth is that the Israeli terrorist decided to bomb everything and kill everyone, just to make sure they didn't miss any Hisballah combatant or supporter that happened to be in South Beirut.

You're funny. It so shows you have no idea of the situation here. Israel drops leaflets when people get lucky. When they drop the leaflets, they tell people to leave in 3 hours before they bombard. But there's a little problem: all the roads are broken, so people need to leave *walking*. As you can imagine, pregnant women, children, the elderly, the handicapped, the sick can't always walk fast enough. Not that you care, of course.

In any case, that wouldn't be a smart strategy considering that the Israeli terrorist bombards *everything*, Hisballah and not Hisballah, combatant and civilian, children and adults, ALL.

As an example, today only they bombarded a truck transporting food for the needed and another ambulance.
