Peak Oil and Jehovah's Witnesses, Connected?

Take a look at these two charts.

This chart shows the approximate population of Jehovah's Witnesses over the course of the past 60 years.

This chart is a of Peak Oil.

Anyone else see the remarkable connection?

Clearly the increase in the number of Jehovah's Witnesses is having a remarkable, positive impact on oil production.

We must all convert to this particular sect of Christianity in order to save the world.

...

Isn't life easy when you ignore certain logical fallacies?

The connection is both clear and obvious. How could any thinking person not vote "Absolutely"?

My concern, however, is that increased energy is what creates more Jehovah's witnesses. Thus, we may be approaching...

(Those with sensitive natures may wish to avoid reading the following!)

We may be facing peak Jehovah's witness! The mind recoils from the prospect.

Oh man, I was just thinking this the other day when our resident JW came to visit with all the bogus literature they bring. I said to myself, they must beat lawnmowers hands down in terms of wasted oil by driving around trying to promote this dribble. The funny thing is that she was spouting off about how animals live harmoniously with each other, her pamphlet had a gnu (or something similar, can't remember) with a bird sitting on top of it's head harmoniously of course. All I wanted to say is "yeah right, look at Iraq ya ignorant fool."

Hey, has anybody thought of telling their resident Jehovah's witnesses about peak oil? I bet they would love to know about it! It completely confirms their beliefs!

Actually, yes I did, about 18 months ago, when I was full of the joys of converting people to our cult.

I started off by saying that I agreed that "End Times" were coming and gave them the whole peak-oil-hubbert-curve-energy-and-food decline rant.

They smiled politely and backed off.

Obviously thought I was a nutter.

I was very pleased to seem crazier than a JW :)

I fixed the pictures.

But yeah, I could have also but up a chart on the number of ball point pens with a simillar result.

People tend not to realize that just because something corresponds with something else, it doesn't mean that one thing causes the other.

My standard response is "I'm a pagan and it's part of my religious practice to kill and eat missionaries. Won't you please come in?" None of them has yet. Also helps if you answer the door holding a shotgun or large knife.

My uncle says he always answers the door stark naked holding an AK47. They can't wait to leave. :-D

I used to start speaking Spanish to the JWs but then some started arriving that spoke it as well so that was out...

Now the Mormons... well they sent some attractive young ladies over so I had to have them back to talk about the book of Moron for six weeks until I finished it. They seem a little upset when they found out my intentions were purely academic.

No matter what language you speak (even if it is American Sign Language) they will make a note and come back with someone who speaks that language. If you don't want them to come back, tell them that you do not wish/want another visit and ask them to make a record of it, and they won't come back for several months. They will come back, but only to check if someone else has moved in since the last time they visited.

Odd...I've never been bothered by JW. Never even been contacted.

I wonder why that is? 8)

I don't have to worry about those JWs.

I have a big, loud, and scary-sounding bloodhound to guard my house.
