$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'i')f you accept peak oil, you accept a conspiracy as teh PTB won't admit to PO, this as they invade the oil countries.

I wouldn't called that a conspiracy theory, but more like a conspiracy fact. There is no theory that we invaded Iraq for oil. Most people that aren't even PO-Aware have very very high suspicions that Iraq was for oil. It's about as "fact" as it will ever be.

you might not call it a theory but the ruling sheeple still do, so therefore it's a conspiracy theory! And peak oil, according to all of my family and friends is a conspiracy theory - twatty as that 'fact' is.

UFO buffs call US gov working with Aliens a con fact, we a con theory.

Anyway in Science, as you likely know, there are no 'facts' only theories! :)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('KevO', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SoothSayer', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')orringly that is if you subscribe to any sort of conspiracy theories....as by default we all do here.

Err - not all .... sorry ...

I have never even once regarded anything to do with Peak Oil as a "conspiracy".

The PO data is out there for all to see (except for Saudi), it's sometimes covered by the media, top politicians acknowledge it.

So where's the conspiracy?

Peak Oil is NOT being hidden ... so are you saying that the whole PO idea is a FAKE set up by the CIA or Bush as part of a conspiracy?

Also, even if the "peaking" part of it wrong, the running out of hydrocarbons in the next 25 - 40 years part of it is certainly correct and widely accepted.

The reasons behind the Iraq war are something else altogether ... but any possible conspiracies there do not affect the validity of the Peak Oil concept.

No SS I'm not. I am saying that for instance all of my family and friends and therefore the sheeple at large think it's just another conspiracy theory.

Once again, the reaction I get from people when I bring up the subject of the oil and gas crunch is completely the opposite of what most report on this forum. Virtually all I get is agreement and at least a general understanding of the reality of the situation.

Some of the responses and reactions that have been described on this forum are remarkable ("hundreds of years of oil left", "they'll come up with alternatives", etc.). Most say this is the sort of response they get, and yet, as I've said before, everybody I talk to seems to already have at least an idea of what is coming, and when I, for example, point out the current daily global consumption of oil, they go all quiet and are completely receptive to the other tidbits of information I calmly feed them.

This extreme difference in responses continues to amaze me.
