$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('gnm', ' ')Hardly. Thats a sickening waste of money. Cripes I could find a million more useful ways to blow that kind of money!

The American consumer has been marinated in so much commercial propaganda that he believes that nothing is too good for him- whether he can afford it or not.

I recently totally rebuilt our main bathroom. I kept it simple but nice and used a lot of recycled materials. Some had historical value, ie wainscotting from the 1930s Bowe Maryland Race Track and wood from old barns. I also used older faucets that were purchased at flea markets. The result....one of the nicest, warmest bathrooms that my family and friends have experienced.

You know, I'm not envious--honestly, most people I know with the fancy bathrooms and deep garden tubs have told me they use the tub like a couple times a year at most, so what's the point? But that article really rubbed me the wrong way, too. Especially the woman turning up her nose at the expensive ("mass market") fixtures and saying it might be okay "for your first house." I wanted to reach through the screen and smack her. I find that arrogant attitude of entitlement to having something better than everyone else has to be really disgusting and anti-social.
