Regardless of hosting wherever, the main problem with the Peak Oil Forum is that it is so slow. Sometimes I have to wait a minute or more for the forum or one of its parts to come up. Compare this with the Storm2k forum ( www.storm2k.org ), and you will see what I mean. That is why I hope that discussions about both Peak Oil and weather (such as the effects of Katrina on refineries) be held on Storm2k rather than here.

Thats an impossible question to answer because you give no requirements. From a cost perspective its easy, gimme a free host. From a perfomnace perspective its a bit more difficult. Standard shared hosting is fine unless you start to eat up alot of resources. From a admin standpoint again free is best, because the general rule is the less you pay the less control you have.

Are you asking from just a general standpoint? I myself like the admin of virtual hosting with the resources of dedicated. I have a hard enough time admin'ing a website let alone the damned server its one, but the performance benefits of having the entire server are nice.

That said I use shared hosting.
