A fantastic article that puts the origins of war into the context of overshoot (quotes Diamond), evolution and memes. I normally would post some excerpts, but you really have to read the article, it's definitely worth your time!

I find it fascinating that you can stand OUTSIDE the "meme flux" which is controlling you and "introspect" to see what's happening.
Luckily (and probably unavoidably!) I am relatively happy conforming to the "memes" which drive my behaviour. I know that some are irrational or weird ... BUT .. in most cases I prefer them to the alternative "memeplexes" available.
Technology will save us!
