Oil exploration on private land

Unread postby CornwallMnt » Thu 08 Jun 2006, 22:34:12

Where can I person that owns 1000+ acres in the San Juan Sag of Colorado ( resurgent Core of the Platoro Caldera) find a green friendly oil exploration company. USGS and USFS have written several papers on the probability of a world class oil reserve in this area. Past estimates of 320 million barrels. I wish to develop this to protect our future.

I doubt very much there is any liquid oil in Colorado. There might be some oil shales under that 1000 acres of yours but under no means would I say it is commercialy viable.

The Gramps Oil FIeld (24-33N-2E) is know in geologicc circles as having one of the highest recoveries (per acre foot) It has produced 200% of the expected reservoir capacity- 7 million barrels from just 80 acres from depths of 2000 feet-ave well prod. 250,000 barrels, ie there is a larger reservoir feed ing the Gramps field "Where the Burnt Creek fault and the resurgent core of the Platoro Caldera and the Alamosa river fault intersect; there should be a substantial reservior" See 2004 USFS published report (SRCLA-DEIS)The area with the highest potential for accurence of oil/gas lieas betwenn Ranges 2-6 EAST and townships 32-44 Nrth.
