You are kidding right??? Work would be different of course, instead of sitting at a keyboard you'll either be outside in the 90F weather chopping wood, useing a hoe to hill up your potatoes and scrape away weeds, or hauling water on your back from the creek for household use because it hasn't rained in a couple weeks and you don't want to let your cisterns get low.

Not to mention the monster projects that will face a lot of folks...
1. building a smokehouse
2. building a stone, woodburning oven / kiln
3. Figuring out how to store 300 bushels of dried corn.
4. Digging out another cistern, firing bricks, making bricks

5. Asking the greatest question of all....
Whats an adze and why do I need to know how to use one.

The incessant rantings of doomers who hate the world and want change so bad that they wish for the end of civilisation.

I've been posting messages to PO doomerism forums from the perspective of, stipulate to the Peak Oil theory and the doom scenario; if X then Y. Its an interesting excersice in some ways. And it appeals to some lurking paranoia in my personality make up. On the other hand, over time, I've found that indulging the paranoia a little bit, like you'd indulge a child, usually sates it pretty well; and if you direct it properly, you can end up with a net benefit anyway. Good example, paranoia about being able to acquire fresh water in Zee Apocoliptico, solution, 250 gallons of rain catchment, cost $50, net real world result? My garden plants get fresh rain water instead of clorinated tap water when they need to be watered by hand, I get to watch gold fish swim around, and I get to have some water lillys. Perfectly acceptable outcome, neighbors think I'm clever, not psycho, and paranoia is soothed.

So, what would I miss? Ibuprofen.
What would I not miss? working inside

I won't miss automobiles in general. Funny...imagine that people won't be able to drive to work...make payments on their autos....and that the repo squads won't have the petro to come repo the autos....
