Essential Reading / Essential websites ?

Unread postby Agren » Wed 03 Nov 2004, 05:54:00

I've been thinking about trying to make a category in the Web Links that has a list of the "essential" websites / essays for someone new to PO. Ideally there should not be too many as not to scare away ppl, so dieoff.org is probably not a good link (for example), but individual essays ffrom the site might be.

My thinking is mostly along the lines of something to give to ppl who has no idea but whom you would like to convince.

I can probably put together a decent list myself, but I'd prefer to get some help. So, if you like to help me out, gimme some directions!

thanks!

The "I don't want to scare people" strategy almost always fails as the person shunts into the "something I will worry about when I have the time" category.

I think http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net is over 1 million visists in a few months and Savinar has been all over national radio even though he's a 25 year old kid right out of school Why do you think that is? Cause his site scares the sh-t out of you!

Not to be rude, but, yeah, I know about LATOC... I also know about all (or at least most) other major PO sites. I'm not sure LATOC is the best place to start, really.

I don't want to scare people away by giving them too much to read, I'd like to find a reasonably small set of essays / sites that is a good start. Preferably a set that deals with various aspects of PO, depletion, economy, alternative energy and so on.

I probably did not make myself clear, sometimes I have that problem when writing in English.
