They talk about a 2% drop in Euro markets like it's a big deal. They're still up 20-30% over the past year.

well the dollar fell, because the tax won't rise anymore.

maybe somethin else is true.

i think the economy will slow down and so they WON'T increase
the interest rate

but inflation will stay high and so they don't like to invest in dollar bonds.

Man what a load of bull...
I still really don't understand why some people think something 'major' is going to happen overnight...

I think your signature sums it up nicely. Unfortunately many of us do not have a solid background in economics and are frustrated by the lack of good solid discussion from both those in power and our educated scholars. So when things like this come along especially following everything that the commodities markets have been doing we tend to get worried. Well at least I do.

well, context is always handy:

Chart of USD (3 years)

yes it's moving quickly lately, but in the context of the last 3 years, it isn't too surprising.

I think it really depends on who you are.

When something "major" happens I believe the majority of people are indeed going to feel like it happened overnight.

For those who do their own investigation, yes you're right, nothing happens overnight.

That's why there is always so much money to be made by carefully and honestly paying attention. Most people don't.

Ah, another post on the dollar is down 5% per month? I have seen these types of moves in one day! Quite boring. Shows your age or inexperience. Couple of posts on the rouble this week on PO. The rouble has gained 10% (30+ to 27) in the past year. I guess you may not be old enough or have enough experience toremember when it wsent from 6 to 30 in the space of months? That is a 80% devaluation! Seen it in the dollar, the yen and the pound. Change happenz! A percent here or there is called an adjustment. For those on top of the issues, we changed dollars to euros and Sterling as $1.2000. Thanks.
The organized state is a wonderful invention whereby everyone can live at someone else's expense.

I thought I had addressed that in my second post to this thread - but thanks for rubbing it in.

I noticed it too. Just give the market one week (looking at the charts). Check in then.
