Schools aren't there to educate, they're there to encourage conformity. Kids are punished for 'bad' behaviour yet rewarded for 'good' behaviour. Good behaviour is simply doing what you are told, nothing else. Bad behaviour is doing what you are not told to do.

Me, I'm a thinker, not a doer. It's my one crippling flaw. If the world does go to hell in a hand basket, I just hope I can survive by wandering about and living by my wits.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('12amps', '
')Why does it suprise you that people all around you are utter dumbasses? When most of the population are CHRISTIAN, nuts who take lies and call it 'truth', crazy people who believed a stupid fucking motherfucker shit called Jesus is the only truth, the only light, and way in the universe?

Religion was good for the world on the way UP, but it will help fuck this world up on the way DOWN.

Ah, but church fellowships are exactly how most of middle America will continue to function as small communities. I don't mean these peculiar megachurches; I'm talking about the 500 member community churches, and the somewhat larger Catholic parishes. It won't be some hippy commune types; churches'll just be the same as they used to be. Very tight, very insular. Not only does everyone know everyone else, the women know virtually every detail of everyone elses life. They sit in the yard shelling bushel after bushel of peas, de-silkifying :P corn, and cutting up peaches for preserves. Church doesn't dominate this process, it does however become a central pivot around which these women structure their respective families and extended relationships.

Thanks for that confirmatory insight into CNN. I used to think that it was a good source of info as I also thought with regard to New York Times. That changed many years ago and definitely after entry into Iraq. :)

Yeah, and having interned as an embedded war correspondent in Ft. Irwin California two years ago, where the U.S. Army trains combat brigades in a virtual Iraq (they called it Calusia at the time, though troops widely referred to it as the 'Box,' an area roughly the size of Rhode Island in the Mojave Desert), I can also confirm what we already know. The Army and the largely clueless media are in bed together.

Public affairs officers (PAO's), for instance, are trained to suppress information from the press by ignoring them. That is, by making them wait for hours outside the gate of the Forward Operations Base (FOB), or telling them they have to get confirmation from their superiors, who conveniently never answer the phone. Soldiers are trained, as was well conveyed in "Jarhead," to say nothing that might compromise forward operations.

In a sense, that restriction makes sense. Wouldn't want to compromise troop locations and such. But soldiers are so terrified they might slip up and say something wrong that they zip their mouths shut completely. Embeds are censored heavily as well.

This post is off topic, but as a member of the press, its very difficult to be a mediary between the military and the public at large.

Anyway, nice to meet you too Jack. Just the facts.

Some viral memes spread because they convey genuinely useful information.

Pedalling,

you KNOW you would be lying between your teeth if you deny using that well known 3ds max 8 keygen and getting rid of the 30 day trial. Every time a new version of max comes out a keygen comes out in like 3 days.

if you want a really HOT model to render in max google "masha 3ds max" if you don't want to pay the $320 for it,
search for it at rapidshare. Render in Vray for realisitic lightning.

max is really cool, I basically use it to animate Trek stuff:

http://www.trekmeshes.ch/ some come out BETTER than studio quality...

Vray is better than the default scanline renderer, and yes you don't 'really' have to pay anything for it....
