you people are retarded, no matter what technology we have, chemical reaction can only happen so fast. Muscles can only move so fast, it is retarded to think that one day a human can run at mach 5 or lift up a Boeing 747. This is fucking common motherfucking sense people, use your fucking brains. I don't care how you twist the rules, or your own definitions, you are just in denial.

No, you are right I think there is a limit but I think a 4 minute mile could be broken. Perhaps not in our lifetime but maybe in the next 100 years. The record is 4:16 set back in 1976. Just look what modern medicine has done to exend the lifespan in the last 100 years. Why not speed or stamina? A 59 sec quarter mile pace is decent. I ran a 2:10 half mile on my High school track team and I was average. What if they made a breakthrough in just stamina and muscle fatigue? The military has been at it for years trying to make a better soldier.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I don't know if this info will have any bearing on this discussion but I remember reading the In Selfish Gene that in an experiment rabbits were bred for their long ears (the ones with the longest ears in each generation were bred together) until the ears just stopped getting bigger. Its like the genetic diversity hit a wall and a limit on big ears was reached. It had a name for a phenomenum but I can't remember and can't be bothered to go upstairs and look it up because I just got back from work and my legs are tired.
Hello, my name is Rax. I live in the Amazon jungle with a bunch of women. We are super eco feminists and our favourite passtimes are dangling men by their ankles and discussing peak oil. - apparently

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Vexed', '
')I can see the future headlines now, after rims have been lowered to 9 ft, a 5 point line is introduced, and a 5th quarter is added.

"Incredible! Wilt's Record Falls! Michael Jordan III scores 190 in 310-267 win!"

:-D
