I was looking at my posts to check for new replies and info and I noticed a disturbing trend. I kill threads. Long or short, it doesn't really matter. Does anyone else feel the same way? About me? About themselves? Maybe we could start a support group for recovering thread killers or something.

If this thread dies as well that will just prove my point.

I recommend Celexa, or Effexor.

It might dampen the paranoia a wee bit.

Me too. I think we have the n00b cooties... I suppose after we hang around longer we'll get smarter/more inflammatory and it'll wear off.

I used to kill threads but then I discovered from watching other members here that they will not die if you insert something inflammatory. Or at the very least use bad grammar and spelling.

On a related note, has anyone noticed that the thread post-to-view ratio varies widely, but correlates fairly well with the supposed "seriousness" of a topic?
For example, a thread about illegal immigrants or one started by Specop or myself might bring 1 post for every 10 views, but a post about an economics or geopolitics topic might only get 1 post for every 100 views.

I have a theorem:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')s the post-view ratio approaches 1:1, the topic is more likely to be deleted or moved to the HoF.


...and the corollary:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')s the post-view ratio approaches 1:infinity, the topic is more likely to be near irrefutable or, perhaps even, indecipherable.


Perhaps I have too much free time... :o

truecougarblue, don't feel bad. My gas calculator has a 10/1000 post/view ratio and about half the posts are mine.

I guess it's the kind of thing people do on their own anyway. Plus gas isn't $10 bucks yet. :roll:
