Fair enough. Just watch out you don't get sprayed with thumb bits when he has an AD. :-D

Seems like this guy needs to make better use of one of these.

Ah, pictures of Spec.

Hate to say it, but as far as build and overall looks go I look pretty
similar to you (I weigh ~170). That one shot of you shooting that giant
handgun reminds me of my brother.

See people, there are skinny americans... just not many.

Don't know much about guns, but why are you resting the business end
on your shoe? Yikes. I wouldn't do that unless I'd curled my toes back,
even if the gun wasn't loaded. Want to hold on to all my toes.

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('bobaloo', 'O')ne nice thing about Oregon is year-round shooting weather.

Heh, everyday is a good day for shooting anywhere, don't be such a wuss. One of the big trap shoots up here is held in the dead of winter in Ontario. One year it was sideways freezing rain, you need thin enough gloves to handle the shells and trigger so near the end of our rounds we all had numb fingers and were dropping shells all over the ground, the autoloading bird house was jammin up making it even worse, everyone had a good laugh about it, then we all went in and had a cold beer - ok made that last part up :)
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Specop_007', 'Y')ou'll see in some pictures I have an AR resting on my foot as I chit chat...

When I started shooting I thought it was kinda weird but all the cool kids were doin it. Your toe is a good a place as any to rest the barrel of an unloaded gun, I have boots with little black circles all over the toes - and still have all my toes!

Nice pics, cool about the handmade gun, I always wondered if it was difficult to make one from scratch, without a kit or anything.

Maybe something for rimfire ammo would be easy to do? Although compared to that artillery it would be rather a toygun...

Ah that's why Cheneys friends have all them black circles around their eyes...

ENOUGH! No more of this until you come out shooting with us. Next match is May 13th, you gonna make it?

Actually, that was a funny incident. He was shooting by me when his gun jammed. He put the buttstock on the ground and started slamming on the charging handle with his boot. Great way to tear the rim off your case....
Which is what happened. Jammed his rifle up tighter then hell. We had many a good laugh at his expense. He did finally get it cleared though.

I wouldnt just grab any rifle and rest it on my foot.
Thats my AR, I had just finished shooting. The chamber was empty, no mag in the gun and the bolt was locked back. 100% safe.
But, its when you start doing it for years and years and get lax in safety that you can blow your foot off.
Which is why the first rule of guns is always assume a gun is loaded, and be careful.
Which obviously I am not, but I knew the weapon was cleared so.....

Spec Op, how loud is the gun in the *.avi compared to a "normal" big handgun compared to the one the Russian guy is shooting ?

i couldn't help but wonder how the eardrums feel after that. like, sorta numb for a while ... or ... just plain not that loud, especially if you're not sighting and holding it down a few feet, like in the *.avi

anyway, thanks for the pics.

The one in the video is LOUD. Its definately one of the louder guns out there.
That big fuck off hand cannon really isnt that loud. I was suprised as I was expecting a explosion but it wasnt too bad at all. Most of the pistols arent too bad, but the rifles are definately loud.

Earplugs are mandatory at the range. It also depends where you stand. Behind is quieter, to the side is pretty loud but get in front of the muzzle at all and you get the full effect of the noise and shockwave. 8)

Spec-How was the kick on the pistol and what type of grip did the handle have?

I shot .454 Taurus RagingBull once with walnut grips and compared it to another .454 with a rubber Houge grip on the range and it seemed like the heavier walnut grip absorbed the kick better(my wrist still hurt the next day).

You're in Lawrence? Why not. It's only 1600 miles from here. Mapquest says it's an easy 22 hour drive as long as you don't stop to pee.

Its got a nasty kick. Its not alot, its just HARD.
Its difficult to describe. I've shot alot of pistols with more recoil, but none that had as hard of recoil. The palm of my hand hurt, but from my elbow up you could hardly even tell I was shooting.

Can SBC come? She'd do some nasty striptease to Madonna songs for us if she could get in to Old Euorope.

Hell, I'll even throw in a Frankfurt hooker and a 3-pack of golf balls to the deal.
