Respiratory therapy?

Unread postby jesus_of_suburbia_old » Mon 17 Apr 2006, 02:33:37

I'm considering respiratory therapy as a possible career choice, but am concerned that the profession may be to reliable on modern technology (ventilators, aerosol meds. etc) for it to be viable post-peak. Is anyone else familiar with the profession, or know anyone involved in it? In my research, I haven't exactly been able to gauge how much of their work genuine healtcare (patient contact, assessment, diagnosis, treatment) and how much is adjusting knobs and pressing buttons.

Thanks for any input.

Unless you whole-heartedly believe that the lights will shut off permanently, chaos runs rampant in the streets and that we will be living a lifestyle akin to something out of Revelations, go for it.

If you do believe the above, well nothing really matters eh.
