I think that this is a generational problem. I might say that I won't miss McDonalds but that might seem crazy for someone in their teens.

I won't miss SUV's and those huge pickups. :)

I definitely won't miss traffic jams and idiots treating picturesque country roads as private speed runs (as has happened throughout classic English countryside in the last 15 years). Likewise jet noise and politicians promising us "airports and more airports".

Actually, I must confess that PO is the only thing that really gives me hope for the future. I truly detest everything that this society calls "progress". Maybe that is a desperate thought.... but that is what I feel.

Five things I won't miss:

1. Evangelical fruit flies (too sweet)

2. NBA daddy longlegs (too chewy)

3. Snap rapper crotch grabbers (too horny)

4. Islamic assassin bugs (too gooey)

5. Nancy Grace grub worms (too yucky)

Will not miss the misspelled name of William Shakespeare on PO.com once there is no access to personal computers any longer.

Over the years such figures as Walt Whitman, Mark Twain, Henry James, and Sigmund Freud have expressed disbelief that the man from Stratford-upon-Avon actually produced the works attributed to him. These claims necessarily rely on conspiracy theories to explain the lack of direct historical evidence for them, although their advocates also point to evidentiary gaps in the orthodox history (source: Wikipedia).
In this context check this out (credits to Shakespear1):

As far as the spelling is concerned, not a big deal, again from Wiki:
(also spelled Shakspere, Shaksper, and Shake-speare, due to the fact that spelling in Elizabethan times was not fixed and absolute[7]).

5-10 automobile advertisements every HOUR on TV. Count them and be shocked.
Bill(?) Ford telling us there are no limits.
United Airlines telling us "it's time to fly"
Tiny countries making BIG NEWS because of their soon-to-be irrelevant/gone oil
Freeway noise - 24 hours a day in any city
Danger and apprehension while driving
Trucks delivering bottled water to houses on city mains
Power Poles and overhead wires
Powerboats on lakes - pedal boats OK! ;-)

Giant overloaded logging trucks that zoom past at 20 miles faster than the speed limit then blast their horn as they whizz past me while I'm riding my horse by the road.(Lucky for me he's an ex-race horse so no stupid human thing surprises him.)

suburbia
cars
motorcycles
pavement
strip malls
suburbia (did I mention that already?)
lawnmowers
weedwackers
barking dogs with irresponsible owners

Actually, these things wouldn't be so bad with much less population density. Ergo, I blame it all on suburbia! Luckily I can move and be rid of all my woes. Who needs PO anyway?!?

Just the other night, my mother was driving us home from Gatwick airport via the motorway, we noticed that the outside lane had been closed off, so, we tried merging into the next inner lane, admittedley she was a little late cutting in, only to find we were driving parallel with a huge 18 wheel truck who absolutely refused to let us in, he accelerated when we accelerated and we were rapidly running out of room and heading straight for the cones. After a couple of wanker signs and middle fingers from myself he let us in at the very last second and then sped up behind us flashing his lights and tailgated us inches from our rear bumper for a few hundred meters. I swear if I would have had a gun, I would have blown that fuckers tyres out. It was like the seen from the movie.. 'Duel'. Pretty damn scary.

Mad max is already here without P.O!

Bring on $100 barrel and get this trash off the road.

I won't miss:

- fanatic football fans, as they will be more worried with other things

- The general notion that consumerism = happiness. In times to come, the expression carpe diem will have a whole new meaning.

Threads like this.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Mine runs on electricity and its still pretty loud. Maybe they'll come up with an attachment that gives it an extra subvocal thump/thump like the ICE version.
