At Last: PEAK OIL, The Game

OK, after 15 months of development, playtesting, and tweaking, I am defining all errors as definitive.

You may recognize elements of:
* Diplomacy
* Iron Dragon
* Poker
* Catan
* Civilization
* Munchkin
- Discover and burn oil!
- Lay pipelines!
- Erase and Draw on the board!
- Create money from nothing!
- Integrate covert and military action!
- Blockade! Trade! Invade!

As classic as Empires, as current as tomorrow’s headlines, each game should take about 7 hours in total. But they go by like 2. The first few times you play will involve some hard yards: for complexity, it's somewhere between Diplomacy and Empires in Arms.

An on-line version would be sweet, but one couldn't play it in a power failure.

I'd play it, for sure, but coding it would be a royal pain.

Hi,

I tweaked a bit of text: typos, explanatory notes, etc. I've also included a Call for Players to post at local gaming stores if they keep peg boards.

Updated, at same ftp location. Let me know what's not clear, how you get on etc.

Cheers
Stephen
