PeakOil is You

PeakOil is You

What kind of person are you?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

What kind of person are you, mostly?

I'm a communist. It's what's best for the working people and the common good.

I'm a capitalist, because I believe that competition and economic disparity are good for society.

I'm a capitalist, because my investments are going to make me rich(er), just for putting a lot of money in the right places.

I'm selfish as all f***, and not ashamed to admit it, unlike everyone else. I'd join the next Nazi dictatorship, or kill and steal freely, if it would give me food and shelter.

Dude, like...people should just all smoke a joint, join hands, and, like...get along.

I'm an anarchist. I work against government, property, and capitalism; which are self serving entities, profiting off the exploitation of the working people.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Doly', 'I')'m a pragmatic anarchist, a la Robert Heinlein.

I as well. I'm very much the individualist, and do not greatly enjoy other people telling me what I can and cannot do, and any form of authoritarianism generally pisses me off grandly.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('arocoun', 'I')'m an anarchist, an environmentalist, and a strong believer in justice. Unlike most anarchists, I mostly keep my anarchism to myself, because most people just don't seem ready for anarchism at all--most people aren't even ready or willing to hear about it. If the people around me are interested in anarchism, they know who to ask about it.

I agree with this statement completely. Most people cannot bring themselves to accept anarchy, and probably couldn't even handle it if it was thrust upon them.

It's up to individuals to free themselves from their indoctrination. I can only gently nudge others in the right direction. I'm not even completely free from the ties that bind me to the sinking ship that is our society. And in order to free others, you must first free yourself!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') am a pink monkey at the top of the food chain. A lot of the time I think I am way more than that. Stupid monkey.

That's the most gorgeous answer! Marvelous. You're so well adjusted.

I am a newbie and still in shock from a chance article I read by Rainmaker in January. My whole universe shifted and so must my life. Before "peak oil awareness" I was already downsizing and knowing that mindless consumerism and the accumulation of "things" was not the way to go. Now it horrifies me to see "conspicuous consumption".

I love people and usually the first to help one if help is required. I rack my brain for help with questions people ask. But I found out most help and advice is unheeded. I will gently bring up the looming energy crisis but most are not interested so now I am mostly quiet. Sometimes the most I will say is to google peak oil. But I am sure they never do.

I will stand up for the mistreated.all animals including humans. I found myself mouthing off in a couple of countries when I saw mistreatment of animals..then I had to remember...I was only a visitor. I gave a deposition to a lawyer of a fellow worker at a corp I worked at. THAT person got a hundred thousand...I got migraines from the boss. (kinda funny now)I am too honest at times and sometimes cowardly.I have a good work ethic (I figure they "bought me" for 8 hours in return for survival . Sometimes i do not have a good work ethic and will play on the pc . I am a strange mix. I am sensitive yet cold as steel.

Everyone is many traits and very unpredictable.
