The distant future and time capsules.....

Here is the scene, the pessimists are right, the depletion of all the key hydrcarbons leads to the extinction of man. Now consider that there is 5 billion years before the earth gets consumed by the sun going supernova. This is more than enough time for humans(or some other intelligent being) to evolve and establish on earth and for another endowment of oil , coal , gas and uranium to accumulate on earth.

My question is , if a time capsule was planted today (a sealed indestructable container whcih contain artefacts for people of the future), what would you put in it to warn future generations?

I will start you off, erm, how about a copy of 'The oil age is over ' by Matt savinar except we might have to modify the title slightly to , 'The oil age is over the first time around or part I.....' or something like that.

Your thoughts ??.... :)

PB :)

Oh , I'd also leave a sample of my tissue in there as well just in case they can reincarnate me

Assuming is the prediction is true, we see a mass die-off, where very few of us are alive, and we decend back into the stone age.
Assuming we do live like hunter-gartherer, then we're going to be very vulnerable to extinction. Fossil fuels will take an average 500million years to form.
Think about about a species trying to survive for 1 billion years. 65 million years ago, guess what happand? yup it can happan again.......
In the past we're very lucky to get past several ice ages, and other major geological events.. major volcanic eruptions.

Also in 1 billion years, imagine how we're going to look like? where will evolution take us?

Uranium will not replenish over the eons, it will decay.
