Rumor Control - WMD in the US?

Unread postby seahorse » Sat 04 Mar 2006, 10:43:53

Here's a wild rumor for everyone to ponder. I have heard from a police officer friend of mine that the Federal government has been using special operations forces in the recent tunnel finding operations along the US/Mexican border, bc they suspect a WMD may have been brought into the US using the tunnels. Can't provide any names, sorry, but thought I would pass it on. With all the Bin Laden tapes surfacing and all the talk about America's "broken borders", I thought it was interesting enough to pass along.

With all the key words I just used, unfortunately, the Feds are probably now searching my computer.

Why smuggle a WMD across the border when you can make one with supplies from under your kitchen sink for a fraction of the cost?

Dreamtwister,

If you have enriched uranium under your sink, please don't post it here. SWAT teams will be kicking in your door unannounced. You will get a one way ticket to GITMO. In fact, your alluded to bomb making expertise may cause you to have unexpected company anyway.

LOL if I did, I think I would have more immediate problems than the "knock on my door"...like "Why are my eyes bleeding?"

You're assuming I'm not a government operative sent here to stir up dissent and create an excuse to arrest everyone here! MWAHAHA!

Knowing Americans, they probably have warnings on Uranium containers notifying the person of not putting it under your sink, eating the yellow cake (mmmm....cake), or handling it when it's hot.

Now there's a coincidence. Just as Bush's poll ratings are bungee jumping off the cliff, rumours start arising of WMD entering the country.

mekrob,

The uranium containers I saw in the tunnels running from Mexico to the US did have warnings on them. It said:

PROPERTY OF US GOVERNMENT
IF FOUND PLEASE RETURN

NOT FOR RESALE

Hidden in the small print on the base of the container was "Handle with care. Not potable, not digestible."

The problem is the guys wearing the "Viva Chavez" shirts couldn't read english.

CNN covered this. In particular, Lou Dobbs. Because our "broken borders" is one of his pet peeves, along with "exporting America."

He said the information came from an informant who was not considered reliable. The guy failed a lie detector test, and apparently didn't have a good track record.

Still, they felt they had to check it out. They did, and now are sure it's a hoax. At least, that's their story, and they're sticking to it.

Leanan,

Do you know when CNN ran the story? This info came to me last night, but was given to my friend (police officer) by a DOD employee within the last few weeks. I will try to pin the date down.

Almost eerie, no?

Here's the scariest outcome I can see of a WMD in the U.S. - what if it actually took out the president this time? Apparently, the 9-11 guys tried to take out the White House. Well, what if they successfully took out the President? What if they not only took out the president, but some or all of of Congress? Bad, bad, bad. Americans would be pissed, Bush's poll numbers would sore bc he had been martyred, martial law would be declared, and Cheney would be standing at the helm ready to seek revenge.

Move along, nothing to see here! :)

Good point. I don't know what to believe anymore. But I know what not to believe, namely anything coming out of the Whitehouse.

Lately everything seems to be a lie. They've been caught lying so many times now that any semblance of credibility has been completely destroyed.

I've been telling my Bush supporting acquaintances for years that the southern border represented a huge terror potential, only to be laughed off as a liberal because I had the nerve to criticize Dear Leader.

Fortunately those folks have stopped laughing, but they're still in the denial phase. "After all, its the liberal media that's criticizing the President, and they shouldn't be because this is a war and he is the president."

They probably won't wake up until the consequences of all the lies and bad decisions are slapping them in the face.
