'Oil, the Final Countdown' Emmanuel Amara [TV]

Unread postby Tuike » Thu 02 Mar 2006, 18:06:03

I just saw a French peak oil document on tv on channel 3! They interviewed Colin Campbell, Matthew Simmons, Skribowski. While I've studied this subject for a year I still learned something new from the document. Such as why Simmons quit his job as Bushs advisor. He was too frusfrated at Bushs stubborn administration. Simmons explained how NYMEX sells ghost oil contracts. They sell 200 million barrels of oil per day while only 80 million is produced. They sell oil that doesn't exists. While Campbell gave away some doom stuff, there were some more relaxed parts where they showed how oil company workers were doing. The film crew was onboard an oil tanker and they almost collided with a sail boat. That makes me think how easy it would be for terrorists to target an oil tanker.

A very good documentary indeed. No need to order any dvd's from the internet if they start to show stuff like this on tv!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Starvid', 'I')s it available with Swedish subtitles? Or was it in english?

It was modified for Finnish tv so that the narrator spoke in Finnish and those who were interviewed were subtitled in Finnish. I don't think that's aviable in dvd, so you'll have to send feedback to Swedish tv stations so that they'll air it.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tuike', 'T')hey sell 200 million barrels of oil per day while only 80 million is produced. They sell oil that doesn't exists.

Which is totally appropriate because they buy it with money that doesn't exist as well.
