Jim Mellon, Al Chalabi
Great! I get to slag off a book for a change!
These people haven't a clue - the book does not mention Peak Oil, the Natural Gas Crisis, Fiat money, the petrodollar...
Basically all you get for your money is them pontificating at great length, with some odd effects- a mere 4 pages on Energy (they don't know about peak oil, the buffoons) and 2 on the Dutch tulip mania of the 1600s, which is really relevant to today, yeah right. There's only pages 219 -280 which are relevant to surviving the economic crisis, and they are mostly banal Sunday-supplement fare. Plus you get the prophecies of mystic Edgar Cayce; use them to guide your investing if you like, but I'm going to watch energy and commodity prices
The long explanation about how the US & world economy is in trouble could have been compressed into 30 pages, with much more meaty economic survival issues addressed at length.
Get Leeb's The Oil Factor instead. This is totally useless.
