Yeah, I never realized we used that much oil till after looking at life after the oil crash. Once you realize those kind of numbers and the projections for demand theres no way you think we are gonna be able to continue like this for much longer.
Crazy that we are burning a finite resource at such rates isn't it. Something has got to give eventually.
Albert Bartletts lecture was an eye opener when he talked about how in each decade we were burning more oil than had been burned in all of the previous decades combined. Thats really crazy when you think about it. Most people have no grasp of runaway exponential growth and the problems with it.
