Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive...

If anyone sees the show, could they post their impressions?

Has anyone read Peter's book?

I've skimmed the author's website and the blurbs for the book. It looks less threatening than Kunstler and Heinberg, easier to understand than Deffeyes.

I'm thinking it would be a good book to give to family and friends.

(Tertzakian appeared Feb 3 on Talk of the Nation (NPR) with some others on the topic: "America's Oil Needs and New Energy Options.")

Well, either the publisher sent out the wrong date, or everything is off a day from the birth of Stewart's daughter. I do like the title "Lipstick on a Pig" though.

Guess we'll see tomorrow.

looks like my guess was accurate as to the why, just not the when.

Peter Tertzakian, author of A Thousand Barrels a Second, is a confirmed guest on “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart.

Due to the birth of Jon Stewart's baby, the Air Date will now be: Tuesday, February 14 at 11pm EST on Comedy Central (Rerun will air 8pm, Wednesday, February 15)

Book Description:

“Required reading for policymakers.”
-Publisher’s Weekly

“Bravo to Peter Tertzakian for taking on a very complex and contentious issue - our society's near-addiction to oil - and doing a masterful job at describing the history, present circumstances and implications, and outlining rational strategies for the future.”

On The Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart said at the end that Harrison Ford would be tonight's guest. I guess we'll see.

I wonder if it'll get more or less coverage since it's Valentine's day?

I don't really think that it will make a difference.

The guy Cheney shot having a heart attack? That might make a difference.

My thoughts on the interview are posted here: http://saccharomyces.blogspot.com/2006/ ... shers.html
but to summarize, I was not impressed with the author. The rest of the daily show was quite good, though. :)
