$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ubercynicmeister', '
')Whales are worthy of respect (though I haven't hunted them, either), but I'd laugh a lot if I heard of some idiot naming their child "Whale" or "Orca" or "Cetacean". Or "Beluga". Or "Narwhal"...or, for that matter, "Manetee".

I don't know... 'Orca' might be kind of cool... 8)

We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent in any still alive

Am I the only poor uneducated soul who didn't know that "Termagant" was an archaic spelling of "Ptarmigan", and that "Termagant" also happened to be a word meaning "Hag"?

Come on someone back me up here. Failing to link "Ptarmigan" with "Hag" is not an indication of cluelessness. Even after you've pointed out this link I still think Ptarmigan is quite a nice name.

the Home Savings on Calif. St. in San Fran once had a teller named Psychedelic Bloodgood, in the early 90's time-frame.

wonder what her nick-name was ?

i wouldn't judge the austro-yuppies by naming their daughter ptarmigan. at least they can spell the word.
