I can't even begin to contemplate a life without beer. To paraphrase Mel Gibson in Braveheart.

"They may take our lifes but they'll never take our BEER"

And I'm not alone in my worship of theAmber Nectar

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
--Henny Youngman

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
--Frank Sinatra

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.
--Ernest Hemingway

You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on.
--Dean Martin

When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. Sooooo, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven...
--Brian O'Rourke

Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time.
--Catherine Zandonella

Without question the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but a wheel does not go as well with pizza.
--Dave Barry

Candy is dandy but, liquor is quicker.
--Ogden Nash

He was a wise man who invented beer.
--Plato

Work is the curse of the drinking class.
--Oscar Wilde

Paddy,

If you're ever in Idaho I'd like to buy you a beer or two, or ... :-D

I won't miss those religious wacko's on public transportaion trying to convince you to be their religion.

There is a famous Filipno comedian who said that he had to speak Filipino so that the Mormon people would stop bothering him to become mormon.

Won't miss paying bills. Yeah, I know, gotta pay bills. Every month. Ugh. Some people feel proud :-D I pay my bills, dammit. After a while its such a drag. Too lazy. Don't want to turn on the light, get out a pen and checkbook, start getting them out of the envelopes, sorting them, getting the stamps, filling out all the checks and make due notice in the checks registry, being careful to put the check numbers and dates in the proper fields in the registry. Stuffing everything into envelopes making sure everything is facing where it sould be so the post office doesn't lose it, getting paper cuts on my tongue licking the envelope flap with the dead horse adhesives that won't work unless you moisten them. So on and so on. Hate it.

This is the one that always stuck in my memory. Whenever I see one I remember this thread. Is Kent still around?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('fossil_fuel', 'P')O will not be the end of beer! do some research on homebrewing!

Indeed - if anything, it'll be more prevalent.

Personally, I can't stand the taste of beer.

lotrfan: I hope you realise that implementing a mass transit solution is going t o be the only way to get any semblance of a system working?!?

Oh, and for those saying it's not possible - We built the railways before oil. If we did it once, we can do it over again. And think of all the scrap metal we'll have! As for geting supplies to the workteams - it'd be done the way it was in the old days - by using the rail line itself.

The continuing urban sprawl, the loss of unique species due to overpopulation. Giant shopping malls, Wal-Mart, the overwhelming smell of car fumes wherever you go. I hope also we will see the end of the thought process of stepping over everyone just to get a bigger house etc and bring back the ideas of community. Maybe some more people will wake up and see consumerism for the giant beast it is, see how the things they own in the end own them. If we do it right the world could be a better a place then it is now.

People on busses. Urrgh, I can barely mention them. Those ones who insist on not sitting in their seat facing the right way, and instead turn right round and look in your direction, or sit sideways on their seats! All I want to do is look out of the DAMN WINDOW! Instead you have to spend your entire time avoiding their pathetic antics lest you look in their direction and they think you're staring at them :!: Members of the opposite sex are the worst for this, "I DONT FANCY YOU I JUST WANT SOMEWHERE TO LOOK PLEASE, SHALL I JUST STAB MY EYES OUT??!?!?!"

I've seriously been considering making a sign saying "Sit down and shut the fuck up!" for a while now.

That's what I won't miss! :-D

The bloke accross the street I do not miss.

He and his missus were heroin addicts, she had HIV, I don't know about him. He also seemed to like getting women hooked on drugs, we can only imagine why, dirty F***er.

According to the local paper he was taunting his girlfriend about being HIV+. Later in the evening she poured boiling oil over his head while he was sleeping then stabbed him so hard the knife bent. Hes alive but disfigured for life, shes in prison. Although this sort of thing will increase short term I think long term it wont happen. (well I can only hope)

I wont miss it. I will be moving to the countryside anyway.

I wont miss the pressure of our daily life either. I know we'll still need to work hard but it wont be the empty, souless pressure of making someone else really rich in as short a time as possible sort of pressure.

I've had a bad day :x
