Good point, they may just give her own conservative AM talk show.

I'll take anyone over that nasal-talker, Laura Ingraham. Her voice (and LAUGH) is so damn annoying, reminds me of an ex-girlfriend I used to have.

Me, too! Glad to see somebody is properly preparing for the New American Way of Life!

'Course, none of them seem to be able to hit their asses with both hands, but I'm sure they'll have plenty of ammo, and if they just keep firing, they'll eventually hit something, certainly...

FA fire was never meant to be accurate. its meant as suppressive fire. Granted, getting caught out in the open looking down the business end of a MG is a surefire recipe for a body bag, but ideally you use MG's to provide suppressive fire, pin your opponent(s) down and use the rest of your squad to flank the enemy position and neutralize them.

Those are the kind of peoples I want watching my back in the coming civil unrest.

On a side note, I saw the mythbusters test the idea that gunfire can cause a vehicle to explode. The mythbusters failed to cause a vehicle to explode with gunfire. I think that video proves them wrong.

Mythbusters does a good job, but they always leave out some details.
For one, they didnt use tracers rounds.
Courtse, that car could have had some Tannerite in it too so who knows.

I wondered about that too, that vehicle took a LOT of hits before it went up, but the explosion itself looked suspiciously like in the bad movies.

Nothing against big calibres, but I miss the distinctive sound of a german MG42 here...

In the army we still have them in service - there's nothing like them...

Well, the Mythbusters did not use tracer (that would ignite gas) and it looked like that car had some type of explosive in it....

Mark my words, i *will* own a '42 before I die. It might be a half assed semi auto version, but by God I will have one.
I'd prefer the real deal, but your talking something like 40 grand or so versys 5k for a semi. Oh well, either way........

Don't tell that our army or they will sell them instantly so they can afford to buy a helmet for every soldier...

Its an inherent value vs appraised value.
We (America) can no longer manufacture or import and FA weapons. Havent been able to since 1986. Which means whats out there is all thats out there. So its a supply vs demand thing. Theres only X amount of FA weapons and there will never be any more.
So while the 42 itself might cost 800 or 1000 to make, due to the fact we (America) can never have any new ones the price is artificially inflated. And its that way for any full auto weapon, which is why they are so expensive.
A FA weapon is the same price as a semi weapon for FFL dealers, but for civilians we cannot buy the new production FA weapons.

Crock of shit if you ask me, but what can a guy do?

I am surprised about this, you are allowed to own them but not manufacture or import them? Why???? Some law against proliferation of military equipment?
But is this only about "machine guns" or also for assault rifles with full auto mode?

It's rubbish anyway, because if you have for example the semi Auto version of the Steyr Aug it just needs a slight modification of the hammering unit and the gas-pressure valve.
