So am I the only person around here that is actually saving money thanks to peak oil preparation efforts?

I see so much talk on these forums about planning for peak oil – surely everyone here understands the importance of finding alternative means of transport and general energy conservation? If you are so concerned that peak oil is going to be as devastating as sites like LATOC claim, then frankly, why haven’t you made drastic changes to reduce your dependence on oil?

Because of your relatively exclusive knowledge of peak oil, you should be using less natural gas and less gasoline. This will result in substantial savings.

So why are PO aware people still so dependent on oil and natural gas? We should all be saving money because of our conservation efforts.
