There are areas where people can take out the fences that seperate their properties. Say you have some houses with just a couple of people living there, and these houses have enough contiguous land that if they had plenty of seeds and water entrapment and armed defenders they could provide for themselves. There are also plenty of people living in areas of too great density for whom this option will not work. Isn't Canada and the US in the progress of implimenting liquified natural gas terminals on the West coast?

It's a little strange to see Canada in the near future (10 years) as a natural gas importer rather than an exporter.
