Peak and decline

I've read here that Simmons and Deffeyes both say we have already peaked. If so, are we seeing declines, or are we in some kind of "plateau" phase? If we are declining, what is the rate of decline currently? If plateau, how long is the plateau expected to last before decline?

I'm with the Post Peak crowd, I know we are few but you can liken the scenario to scenes in those old films where the boat floats down the river then the waters get a little choppy until the boat riders realise that dead ahead is a huge waterfall, already in the waters mighty current the boat riders are powerless to escape the result will not be pretty.

For me we are well in the current and the sad thing is that Humankind in the boat hasn't yet realised this.
