Sorry, but that's not correct. Modern mineral oils are really good now (much better than they used to be), but synthetics are still better in any test, be it clinical or real-world.
Now, when you start talking about whether or not synthetics are worth the money, that's a legitimate debate. Like I said, modern mineral oils are really good now, and in a normally driven street car with excellent maintenance, there's probably no advantage to using synthetic. In my case, I probably drive a good bit harder than most people and I plan to keep my car until it dies or is too expensive to drive (whichever comes first), so I opted to use synthetic.
If you're talking about synthetic additives like Slick50 and Lucas products, then yeah, that stuff is crap and totally unnecessary.
