For refusing to show a bureaucrat a so-called "ID"(that any high school kid could fake in 3 minutes). No more snail mail for the wolf. I had that box for 30 years and have known some of the employees for many years--but that doesn't matter. I told them I felt sorry for them-but the wolf is NEVER gonna climb in the boxcar. I hate the corporate fascist police state this nation has become. It's personal now. How long till it becomes personal for you?

Suck!

Why did they all of a sudden decide you needed ID?

It's a symptom. Hey! do you know anybody who would be willing to make an ALCU case out of this? There's NO LAW that REQUIRES a person to carry "ID".Of course, I'm sure everyone in the ACLU carries "ID". No "ID"=terrorist, didn't you know.
(the unabomber killed 3 people, WR Grace (a corporation) committed mass murder in Libby and the dying is far from over)

I hate the ACLU.

I also hate the laws shoved down our throats for thepast 100 years.

There is no requirement to carry ID, but I do know for a fact that you can't get a PO box without proof of local residence. Been there. Done that. IMHO it's meant mostly to screw with the homeless. Mailboxes ETC is often less nasty about the whole thing, though they to are enmeshed in a web of BS government regs.

Can you just have everything sent to general delivery?

No.
NO "ID"=No mail no way. (the ACLU comment was meant to be FAY-seeshus-as "Scotch" Maclean used to say...)

Doesn't that put you in kind of a legal double bind? Aren't you required to have an address? If nothing else, for tax bills and such?

Specop is a Libertarian. He just reads too much NRA junk mail to realize that Dubya is a fascist. Despite his frequent attempts to convince us otherwise, Specop really is a pretty good guy.

So when you send in your income tax forms you can't give them a mailing address. That will screw things up for the IRS.

This book contains an in-depth discussion of you and the postal system, including the hows/whys of having a mail-box etc type box, or a PO box or a regular mailbox, or a ghost address, et cetera...

Lots of other good information that may of relevance to people on this site, like setting up a limited liability corporation to protect your assets.

Dur?
Bush really hasnt done shit forusgun owners except not push for a reinstatement of the AWB. Otherwise, its pretty same ole same ole.

But I can tell you (From a gun rights perspective) Bush is light years better then any other choice we had at the time.

Now, if Bush would quit spending like a Democrat, seal the border, come up with a balanced budget, restore our gun rights, downsize the government and cutsocial programs I would say hes a Republican.

Keep dreaming right? I know.

Too funny for words. Bush is a republican, except that he's a democrat. The reasons for the border sieve and bureaucratic waste are fairly obvious: to reward cronies/business lobbies for all their hard work to keep us fooled a little while longer. The homebuilding industry, er go America, would look quite different if they actually had to pay legal workers legal wages, but I digress...

So what you are saying is that if Bush was replaced by someone else, he might be ok? I can go for that. Ever notice how often the Republicans act like "Democrats" and the Democrats act like "Republicans"? Did ya ever think maybe they're the same party?

BTW...except for the border issue, I agree with everything you said there Specop.

I never did understand why NRA types always support Republicans.

AWB...passed by Republican controlled Congress and signed by a Republican president.

Assault Weapon Import Ban...executive order from Bush the elder.

Ban on licensing of new class III weapons.....executive order from Reagan.

Jim Brady....namesake of the Brady Bill...was the press secretary for Reagan.

Republicans talk big about protecting gun rights, but in practice they probably pass more restrictions than the Democrats do.

I've read it. It's a very informative book with legal solutions to privacy problems. Mr. Luna also has a website where there is a question and answer page where people post their problems and issues they have found along with solutions that have worked for them. But do read the book first. It will answer all sorts of questions.

As a Righty, I too am having doubts on Bush. Mostly with the Patriot Act I and II. I noticed our Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson Voted to renew it and thus I might not rally with the base in 2006.

Spec, as far as GWB and guns are concerned, give the man his props. Don't forget GWB put out on the line as governor in 94' with the Concealed Handgun Lisc in Texas.

Sorry to hijack my own thread, but the US Post Office just isn't as important as it used to be. First of all, I told them: "You may be able to prevent me from receiving mail but you can't stop me from SENDING mail, can you? Ha Ha. Also, I haven't sent "letters" for years-guess they haven't heard o' email. Packages come/go UPS. The only "letters" I get are a monthly electricity bill (which can be handled on line and paid by echeck) and a once a year property tax bill which I never even open as I pay my taxes about every 2-3 years just by walking into the courthouse and asking them how much I owe.

Go @#$% yourself, Mr, Zip.
