Yes, I realise that, but you still haven't told me what it means.
This actually demonstrates the problem. I have the opposite experience. Customers can't explain what they want, and engineers can't guess what is in their mind. Invariably, a solution proposed by the customer is impractical. That is fair enough, they are not engineers. More worryingly, the solution proposed often would not even do what the customer really wants. So engineers have to sit with the customer, slowly teasing out what sort of solution meets the requirements and is also practical. We don't call this babysitting the customer though, we call it something like Systems Analysis.
I won't bore you with the war stories, but there are plenty!
