FYI, it was the spaceship in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy which contained the useless third of the Golgafrincham population. One third were the workers, who made things, one third were the thinkers, doers, scientists and philosophers, who were the top third of society.
The middle third were the Telephone Sanitizers (grade 2), Advertising Personnel, and Tired TV producers, who were utterly irrelevant to society, and were sent off in a space ark programmed to crash on another planet so get rid of them completely.
