$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')eatherchannel right now:

Rome, Italy
59 F

And the gas heater is firmly set to "off".

WTF 8O

I was in Italy last week (close to Florence). It was near freezing complemented by a very unfriendly drizzle.

Anyway.... not that it is much better here (2-5 degrees).

I was stupid enough to go mountainbiking yesterday. Ended up as a nearly frozen lump of mud. All that thermostuff doesn't work too well when it is soaking wet. But I had good fun. A few interesting crashes and no severe injuries.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Schweinshaxe', 'J')esus, when will you heathens convert to the metric system so that normal people can understand what you're talking about.

Look at the Brits! They were forced on their knees by the French and started to use the metric system. If they surrendered I'm sure you could too.

Here in southern Krautland it's about + 6 C and rainy. In the Highlands there is a little bit of snow.

I converted as a child with Fahrenheit teachers trying to teach me. Picked it up myself in science classes where Centigrade and Kelvin are compulsory. It makes more sense with 0C for the freezing point of water and 100C for the boiling point.

In Fahrenheit, I only know that 32F is freezing. Body temperature is somewhere in the 90s but I know it is 36C. Water boils somewhere over 200. And 451F is a movie with Oscar Werner and Julie Christie.

Here on the Gulf Stream (for as long as the Atlantic Conveyor holds up) bathed South West coast of Ireland it is 0C precisely with Metcheck.com telling me that I can look forward to 10C plus at the end of the week.

Still, the stove is on. Chinese girlfriend. I do so enjoy high maintenance women.

Oh come on, it's not hard. Just subtract 32 from Fahrenheit temp and then divide by 2 (that close enough, actually it's multiply by 5/9ths, so just toss a couple two extra on.) Example, San Diego has 68 degrees F today, so subtract 32 to get 36. Cut in half to get 18, add a couple and voila: 20 degrees C.

OK, but the question is; who worked outside today?

I did about six at a single digit wind chill – I might have been able to do more but my hogshead has dwindled to a mere firkin.

I probably spent an hour total today outside shoveling snow off the walk in front of my clinic. Does that count?

Mmmm...swap ya some temps in the high 90's for something around the mid 60's...hang on that’s what the north Atlantic conveyer doe's right?...never mind. :(
I'll go the heat over the cold any day. Has to get pretty warm to start knocking people off.

Averages over 98 (38c) here in September to December before the monsoon cloud gives us some relief :)

I'll think of you while your freezing ya nuts off if you think of me sweating my ring off :-D

Transmitting some warmth your way. 8)

Hi from sunny Colorado!
It's 10F right now, but with the wind chill factor it's -4F. It's snowin and blowin - I feel like I'm in Minnesota. 3-6 inches coming, hours ahead of schedule.

Raining in Warsaw today, so must be above freezing (in whatever system). We had an extremely mild and warm Fall (usually cold and rain). Dug up some pine trees to move out to the country property, but only got 1/2 done of what I wanted because the new dog was 'helping' me so much.

Isn't that unusually cold for you at this time? I imagined Colorado warmer.

Here in south-west Finland it is 32 F (0 C to those conquered by Napoleon) with about 1 inch of snow. A bit warmer than usual.

Yes it is! I just looked it up and at this time of year our average high is 46F and average low is 15F. It's also usually sunny about 340 days a year so if it's gray out 2 days in a row, people around here get suicidal

Yea, it is real cold. Just imagine real cold and litlle or no energy to fend it off and you can see how quickly dieoff might happen. Hope you all have lots of thermal underware.

Funny thing about this bull shit it's cold thread is that since it has been started NG in the US has tacked on another couple bucks.

People must be figuring out that we need NG when it gets cold.
