Oh Yeah Baby it's cold!

We had temps in the 70's and 80's all through October then bam! We are no having temps just hit the high 40's during the day and it is staying consistantley colder than normal.

It is like someone hit a switch.

We have had no rain to speak of this fall and the next precept we are set to get is snow.

The weird weather continues here in northern Ontario.
Temperatures are seasonally normal @ -8 deg.F but THERE IS NO SNOW.
At these temperatures without snow insulation, the frost sinks another foot into the ground.Tree roots and aquifers are affected.Mosses, ground hemlock and seedlings are killed.Deer are able to browse where they shouldn't and populations overextend.
And of course the human mammals are unhappy because their well lines and drains are freezing.

55 f inside the house at 0900... we still haven't turned on the (natural gas) heater yet. The sun's now starting to rise, the window shades are open and it's nice and sunny inside... when it gets over 60 in here I'm going to take a shower...lol.

-2F this morning...high of 15F yesterday...today should see 14F
AVG HIGH for yesterday was 34F (20F below normal!)

...Sun WAS out earlier...now its starting to get overcast and i can feel it! Heat hasn't cycled on for more then an hour..its 60.1F in the bedroom!

Next weekend should see upper 20's if not 30's and the extreme cold should be a memory (by looking @ the Euro day 5/6). Watch Nat Gas drop this week (i'm guessing).

On the flip side, it reached 89 degrees Saturday in here in Dallas. We are expecting snow Wed for the first time in 2 years.

Yeah the point is not so much what the Temp is right now outside, as much as it is that winter seems to have set in and is sticking around.

And what is that going to do to natural gas prices and heating oil?

I am just 4 hours north of Dallas and we never got above the low 50s this weekend. And we have snow on Wednesdays as well forecast.

Many parts of the country had a very mild Fall but Winter seems to be back to it's old cold ass self. They have had record snow in the Rockies this year.

Jesus, when will you heathens convert to the metric system so that normal people can understand what you're talking about.

Look at the Brits! They were forced on their knees by the French and started to use the metric system. If they surrendered I'm sure you could too.

Here in southern Krautland it's about + 6 C and rainy. In the Highlands there is a little bit of snow.

smallpox should be getting some firsthand experience of that "Hellgate wind" about now. Record lows forecast; for Msla for this time of year probably around -15, this was in 1978. Seems more like Jan. but not really unusual.
