$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'L')OS ANGELES (Reuters) - In 2005, some people wanted the word "brainstorming" replaced by "thought shower" so as not to offend people with brain disorders, and they also wanted "deferred success" to replace "failure" so as not to embarrass those who don't succeed.

I was surprised to see the "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" vs. "Merry Christmas" as an example, hardly an invention of late.

I strongly suggest not to use the word "to drink" anymore, since it could insult any alcoholics like myself. Instead, use "consume" or something similar. Although, this could insult shopping addicts and underprivileged non-consumers.

Hell, why don't we just get rid of all the words and just use one word for everything, as suggested in "1984"? Solved!

Don't worry, it's a white.. I mean Caucasian.. I mean melanin deficiency disorder problem but with current birth rates it won't be in the next century. The world will then revert to being 100% non-PC. Hoorah!!!

There will always be those who want the words from your mouth formed in such a way as to make their ears pleasingly satisfied. Try to be sensitive to their feelings while ignoring their attempts to control your language.

I find offence to the word shower! We north Texans are experiencing a precipitation deficiancy in our lakes and streams. To use the word shower in such a cavalier way is offensive and ethnocentric! Maybe at their next "Thought Gathering" they could role play on how I feel when My neighbor cannot launch his bass boat into lake Lewisville(down 12 feet). This rhetoric just leads to class envy and a enviroment where Public Speakers who specialize in human resource consultants will prosper!
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I'm offended that your neighbor has a bass boat at all. Fish are people too!

I'd to apoligize for insensitive use of the word "Thought Gathering". It has now dawned on me there are people who are incapable of original thoughts. I could never walk in the shoes of good people like the Televison Programers of reality shows at Fox and NBC and go though life with out a original thought like the fish my hateful neighbor hooks and reels in.
